It used to be nice. The smell was horrendous. There was a 3’+ wide and entire beach long of rotting seaweed. Such a shame it’s not kept clean. We were looking forward to lunch at Salute but smell ruined everything. Left to go to Ft Zachary 2 min later.
4 - Great beach!

As a first time tourist visiting Key West for a daytrip, we actually struggled to find a beach in town we could lay out at and enjoy the day. We tried a couple places before landing on this one. The beach is public but beautiful and clean. The day in February we were there it was not crazily packed but people were there. We were able to lay out and enjoy the day. It's a fun beach to explore, both in the ocean and in the surrounding area. There's picnic tables, grassy areas, tennis courts, a pier, public restrooms and changing areas as well as a bar and restaurant. We really enjoyed our beach day here.
