Praia da Costa Nova is a beach in Gafanha da Encarnação, Aveiro. It is located at 52 kilometers from the city of Coimbra. There are 16 parking lots available nearby. Good news! Three of them are free! With 9 food options available nearby, this spot is ideal if you want to get some calories in while you're there. There are 4 toilets available nearby. The beach is near buildings and roads, so it's not very secluded. It's a 3 on our immersion index, so expect some noise.
4 - Original and picturesque

A really picturesque town. Individually considered, most of the houses are small and basic, the typical beach houses, but there are quite a lot of them, it´s the whole that counts, being the effect colourful, original and cute. Besides, this little town has other attractives: its location by an estuary, the huge natural beaches around and quite a lot of shellfish restaurants. It deserves a visit.
4 - Lovely afternoon

had a great afternoon mooching about and spending a couple of hours on the beach. A word of warning when the tide is coming in it is not safe to swim at all. Found some good coffee shops and enjoyed a long walk on the beach.
2 - Heavenly and deadly

Beautiful but dangerous beach.
The striped houses were beautiful and the sand heavenly. The water was a bit cold though even in a heat wave in July.
The beach flew a yellow flag today but lots of swimmers were still out. However it can be quite wavy and dangerous. Lots of unsupervised beach areas and not many lifeguards in the supervised areas. We saw a riptide sweep away someone. At least 15 min before a motorized boat went out to search and > 30 min before the ambulance came. He didn’t survive, and everyone was traumatized. We could all see and hear the hysterical crying of the family member. Local news later said he was only 28.
Please if you go, don’t swim when the tides are strong, stay near life guards and supervise your children.
I would give 4 star for the beauty of the beach and the loveliness of the town, but their emergency response leaves a lot to be desired.
